Editorial Standards
Last updated: 15 August 2026
Every article on Nims Casa exists to answer one question properly: what actually works in a real UK home? This page explains how we research, write, test and correct our content — the standards behind the hundreds of guides on this site.
Where our advice comes from
Nims Casa grew out of a working professional cleaning business. Our methods come from years of paid, hands-on work — deep-cleaning carpets, passing end-of-tenancy inspections, rescuing stained upholstery — supplemented by manufacturers’ documentation, UK regulations and industry guidance. We write what we would do in your home, not what generates clicks.
How guides are produced
- Research. Each guide starts from real questions UK households ask, checked against current UK prices, products and rules.
- Experience check. Methods are sense-checked against professional practice: if we wouldn’t use a technique on a client’s carpet, it doesn’t go in a guide.
- Safety review. We flag jobs that legally require a qualified trade (gas, notifiable electrics) and never advise mixing cleaning chemicals.
- Plain English. British spelling, realistic 2026 prices in pounds, and no jargon without an explanation.
How reviews are scored
- Products are judged against professional standards: cleaning performance, build quality, running costs, ease of use and value over time — not unboxing excitement.
- Cons are listed as prominently as pros on every product card.
- Rankings are set before any affiliate consideration, as explained in our Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure. Brands cannot pay for placement or verdicts.
- Awards (“Best overall”, “Best budget”) map to specific use-cases so you can buy for your situation, not ours.
Updates and corrections
Prices, products and regulations change. We review high-traffic guides periodically and date every article. If you spot an error — a price that’s moved, a discontinued product, a method that didn’t work for you — email info@nimscasa.com. Genuine errors are corrected promptly, and material corrections are noted on the article.
Independence
Our funding comes from display advertising and disclosed affiliate commissions. Neither buys influence: advertisers and retailers have no sight of, or say in, our editorial content. See the full disclosure and our About page for who we are.
